Pipe Stands

Pipe Stands, also known as Pipe Support or Pipe Hanger, are elements that move the weight of the pipe to the support structures. The weight is all the mass of the pipe itself and the importance the pipe can carry, and all fittings attached to the pipe and the pipe coverings, like insulation. The primary roles of Pipe Stands are to anchor and guide the shock and support a specific load. Pipe Stands are used to hold pipes in place when threading or cutting pipe and heavily used for industrial projects.

Pipe Stands Types:

Pipe Roller Stands

These are also referred to as a V Head pipe stand and they allow the user to maneuver or turn very heavy and tall pipes during fabrication or welding steel. Many fabricators prefer these because of the ability to move heavy pipes relatively easily.

Screw Jack Stands

These pipe jack stands allow the user to adjust the height, giving more flexibility on the job by allowing them to make large or small adjustments during the fabrication process.

Adjustable Pipe Stands

These are like screw jack stands as they are adjustable as well but come in different styles by different brands like the Sumner Max Jax, Mathey Dearman, Rigid, Wheeler Rex, and Reed Mfg.

Welding Stands

Welding stands are specifically made for harsh welding environments and handle black and stainless steel pipe in fabrication processes such as ship building and oil pipelines.

V Head Pipe Stand

A V stand is in the shape of a V to hold pipe in place. These come with different options that can be added on, options include a v head ball transfers that have a large metal ball on it that can be added for moving pipe during fabrication.

Sumner Pipe Stands

Sumner pipe stands are known in the industry for their Sumner max jax/jack, these are super heavy-duty pipe stands for welding and have 2500 pound capacity, many fabricators use multiple Sumner max jacks in their shop for big jobs in the oilfield.
