The large-diameter flange is cut from a medium plate into strips and then rolled into a circle, and then the water lines, bolt holes, etc. are processed. Large-diameter flanges can be up to 7 meters long and are made of carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, etc. Large-diameter flange is a type of flange with a wide range of uses. It is mostly used when the medium conditions are relatively mild, such as low-pressure unpurified compressed air, low-pressure circulating water, etc. Here is an introduction to the quality technology and special uses of large-diameter flanges.
There are three types of large diameter flange sealing surfaces:
- Flat sealing surface, suitable for situations where the pressure is not high and the medium is non-toxic;
- Concave and convex sealing surface, suitable for occasions with slightly higher pressure;
- Tongue and groove sealing surface, suitable for flammable, explosive, toxic media and high pressure occasions.
The quality process flow of large diameter flange is as follows:
The production processes of large-diameter flanges are different. Each large-diameter flange has its own advantages and disadvantages, but this is not the case with this flange. For medium-plate large-diameter flanges, the handling of the joint position is the most critical. If this position is not welded well, leakage will occur. For forged large-diameter flanges, there will be a layer of skin on the finished flange after it comes out. If the bolt hole is hit exactly at the position of the skin, water leakage will occur when the flange is pressed.
