Relevant regulations outline specific requirements for marking seamless steel pipes. These requirements ensure that the markings are both functional and durable. The detailed marking requirements are as follows.

Marking Specifications:

The manufacturer's logo on seamless steel pipes must be prominently displayed, durable, clear, standardized, and resistant to fading.

Essential information to be included in the marking: the manufacturer's name and trademark, product standard number, steel pipe grade, product specifications, and a traceability identification number or contact telephone number. For precision seamless tubes, additional details such as the main performance index and dimensional accuracy grade should be included.

Marking Methods:

Markings can be applied using various methods, including printing, stamping, rolling, labeling, or hanging tags. Multiple signs may be used by the supplier.

For steel pipes with an outer diameter of 36 mm or more, markings must be placed at least 200 mm from the pipe’s end, regardless of the marking method used.

Applicability:

These marking requirements apply to various types of seamless steel pipes, including low-pressure fluid pipes, thin-wall pipes, general seamless pipes, sectional pipes, and complex sectional pipes.

Special Cases:

For seamless steel pipes used in oil and natural gas applications, as well as those with 3PE anti-corrosion coatings, the grade of the pipe must be clearly marked.

When packaging for containers, use bracket welding or thin-walled seamless steel pipe kits. Ensure that seamless pipes on the outer layer of containers, brackets, and kits are properly labeled or tagged.

These marking requirements help ensure that seamless steel pipes are easily identifiable and traceable, meeting both regulatory and practical needs.
