Seamless (SMLS) steel pipes are crucial to the national economy, often referred to as industrial lifelines. One of the key technical indicators to measure the processing quality of seamless steel pipes during casting and rolling is straightness. This article outlines the straightening process of seamless steel pipes.

Straightening Process of Seamless Steel Pipes:

Entry to Roller Table:

The seamless steel pipe enters the roller table at the entrance of the leveler from the upstream roller table.

Sensing the Pipe Head:

When the head of the seamless steel pipe is detected by the sensor in the middle of the entrance roller table, the roller table decelerates.

Deceleration and Alignment:

As the pipe head reaches the sensor at the end of the entrance roller table, the first stage of the entrance roller table lowers, initiating the closing delay countdown of the inlet quick-opening cylinder.

Pipe Head Positioning:

When the pipe head reaches the middle position of the inlet straightening roller, the inlet quick-opening cylinder closes, and the seamless steel pipe is gripped. Simultaneously, the second roller table of the inlet lowers.

Entering the Straightening Process:

Based on the delay time settings of the quick-opening cylinder, as the pipe head moves to the middle of the intermediate roll and exit roll, the quick-opening cylinders of these rolls close in succession, allowing the seamless steel pipe to enter the straightening process.

Raising the Entrance Roller:

When the pipe tail leaves the sensor in the middle of the entrance roller, the first section of the entrance roller table rises.

Completion of Entry Process:

As the pipe tail exits the sensor at the end of the inlet roller table, the second section of the inlet roller table rises. Through the quick-opening cylinder delay settings, the quick-opening cylinders of the inlet roller, middle roller, and outlet roller open successively as the pipe tail reaches their respective positions.

Transport to Outlet:

The outlet roller table rises, transporting the seamless steel pipe to the baffle at the end of the outlet roller table.

Final Positioning:

The exit roller table lowers, the side door of the channel opens, and the seamless steel pipe rolls onto the L-shaped splicing hook by gravity.

Iron Oxide Scale Removal:

As the receiving hook lowers, the seamless steel pipe rolls onto the soot-blowing stand, where iron oxide scale on the inner surface is purged.

By following this meticulous straightening process, the quality and straightness of seamless steel pipes are ensured, making them suitable for various critical applications.
