It effectively reduces stress concentration at the transition point, improving drilling performance and decreasing wear on the drill pipe, especially in the connection area and borehole diameter. The thickened center of the pipe and carbide wear-resistant materials welded to this area provide excellent protection against wear. In soft geological formations, HWDP can also replace drill collars to address various challenges encountered in vertical drilling.
