Proper stacking of spiral steel pipes is crucial for ensuring safety, preventing material damage, and maintaining organization. Here are the essential principles to follow:
Variety and Specification-Based Stacking:
Spiral steel pipes should be stacked according to their varieties and specifications.
Ensure stable stacking and safety.
Different types of materials should be stacked separately to prevent confusion and mutual corrosion.
Avoid Corrosive Items:
Do not store items that can corrode steel near the stacks of spiral steel pipes.
Stable and Elevated Base:
The base of the spiral steel pipe stack should be high, firm, and flat to prevent dampness or deformation of the pipes.
Orderly Stacking by Material:
Stack the same materials separately according to the order of storage for easy identification and access.
Outdoor Stacking Considerations:
For pipes stored outdoors, use wooden pads or stone strips underneath.
The stacking surface should be slightly inclined to facilitate drainage.
Place materials straight to avoid bending and deformation.
Stacking Height and Width Limits:
For manual stacking, the height should not exceed 1.2 meters.
For mechanical stacking, the height should not exceed 1.5 meters.
The width of the stack should not exceed 2.5 meters.
Spacing for Accessibility:
Maintain a certain space between stacks.
The inspection channel should generally be 0.5 meters wide.
The access channel should be 1.5 to 2.0 meters wide, depending on the size of the material and the transport machinery.
Orientation for Angle Steel and Channel Steel:
Store angle steel and channel steel in the open air with the mouth facing downward.
Place I-beams vertically with the I-channel surface not facing upward to avoid water accumulation and rust.
Elevation of the Stack Base:
If the warehouse has a concrete floor, raise the stack by 0.1 meters.
If the floor is made of mud, raise the stack by 0.2 to 0.5 meters.
For open fields, cushion the concrete floor by 0.3 to 0.5 meters, and the sand and mud surface by 0.5 to 0.7 meters.
