LSAW (longitudinal double-sided submerged arc welded) steel pipe is a submerged arc welded pipe made of hot-rolled steel plates using JCOE or UOE forming technology. Today, USI Steel will introduce you to the features and manufacturing process of LSAW steel pipes.

Features of LSAW Steel Pipe:

Manufacturing Process of LSAW Steel Pipe:

1. Flat plate probe: used for initial full-plate ultrasonic testing of large-diameter straight seam submerged arc welding joints after entering the production line.

2. Milling: The machine used for milling performs this operation by milling the plate with two edges to meet the requirements of the width of the plate and the parallel shape and degree of the sides.

3. Pre-bent edge: This kind of edge is achieved by using a pre-bending machine on the edge of the board. The edges of the board need to meet the curvature requirements.

4. Forming: After the pre-bending step, in the JCO forming machine, the first half of the steel plate is pressed into a "J" shape, while the other half of the same steel plate is bent and pressed into a "C" shape, and then The final opening forms an "O" shape.

5. Pre-welding: This is to form a straight seam after the welded pipe steel is formed, and then use gas welding (MAG) for continuous welding.

6. Internal welding seam: Series multi-wire submerged arc welding (about four wires) is used to weld the inside of the straight seam welded steel pipe.

7. External weld: The external weld is welded on the outside of the longitudinal submerged arc welded steel pipe using series multi-wire submerged arc welding.

8. Ultrasonic flaw detection: 100% flaw detection is performed on both the inside and outside of the straight seam welded steel pipe and both sides of the base metal.

9. X-ray inspection: Use the image processing system to conduct X-ray industrial TV inspection inside and outside to ensure detection sensitivity.

10. Diameter expansion: Complete submerged arc welding and long hole diameter expansion of straight seam steel pipes to improve the dimensional accuracy of the steel pipe and improve the stress distribution within the steel pipe.

11. Hydraulic pressure test: After the diameter expansion test of the steel pipe one by one, it is carried out on the steel pipe hydraulic testing machine to ensure that the steel pipe meets the standard requirements. The machine has automatic recording and storage functions.

12. Chamfering: This involves the inspection of the steel pipe at the end of the entire process.
