Pipe cutting
Precision pipe cutting

We offer precision cutting of pipes in lengths from 2 inches to 60 feet and diameters from 2 inches to 48 inches. The type of cutting used depends on the size of the pipe and the accuracy required. Tolerance range is 1/8" to 1/64".

Pipe section
Custom pipe manufacturing
USI Steel Pipe offers a variety of custom pipe fabrication services. We can manufacture custom pipes or pipe sections for the petrochemical, oil and gas industries based on customer drawing requirements. The short pipe is a component composed of steel pipes cut to length, elbows, tees, reducers, crosses, flanges, etc.

Pipe end grooving
Cutting and roll grooving of standard and line pipe
USI steel pipe offers both cutting and roll grooving methods. Cutting and roll grooving can be performed in any manner according to industry standards. It can be applied to any length of pipe ranging from 1"-48" in diameter. These grooved pipes are widely used in fire protection systems, the grooves are used to join two pipes together with grooved fittings.

Pipe end thread processing
pipe thread
Threaded pipe can provide effective sealing for pipes carrying liquids, gases, steam and hydraulic fluids. We can thread any length of pipe ranging from 1/8" to 20" in diameter. Available tapers include NPT*, NPS*, 3/16" Peerless, and 8 Taper. (See the Manufacturing Services page for larger diameters) *National Pipe Threads are U.S. used for tapered (NPT) or straight (NPS) threads Standards ANSI/ASME Standard B1.20.1 covers 60-degree threads in sizes 1/16 in. to 24 in. All NPT threads have a taper of 1/16 (3/4 in. per foot) through (pipe thread) diameter with distance. The change in taper measured divided by the centerline yields 1° 47' 24" or 1.7899° (measured from the center axis).

Pipe end bevel
Pipe bevel
USI can apply any type of chamfer to any desired angle. Beveling can be applied to pipe surfaces of any size or diameter. Typically, pipelines for oil and gas or any other fluid transportation need to be beveled on both welding ends at angles of 30°, +5°, -0° with a root face of 1/16", +/- 1/32 ". The groove should form a V-shaped groove with an included angle of 60°+10/-0. Root opening shall be 1/16", +/- 1/32" per ANSI B16.25.

Steel pipe coating shot blasting

Typically, shot blasting is required before pipes are galvanized, painted or applied with any type of coating, especially exterior 3LPE, 3LPP and FBE coatings, interior FBE or liquid epoxy primer coatings. It will remove the thin anti-rust coating on the pipe that was applied during manufacture. It produces large amounts of metal dust, and the process wears down the grinding media. These types of products are captured by dust collectors and require no special handling procedures or environmental precautions. This blasting cleans the edges compared to some other finishing treatments, such as pickling (pickling), which are inherently corrosive and require special waste disposal.
